Tribute by the President of the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims to the Victims of Flight MH17 and Their Families
Alborz Sadeghi, President of the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims, paid tribute to the victims of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 and their families by visiting the MH17 memorial site. He described the motivation behind this gesture as follows: “Being at this site serves as a poignant reminder of the shared pain caused by such tragedies and strengthens our resolve to seek justice and ensure safer skies for all.”
Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17), traveling from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 17, 2014, was shot down by a surface-to-air missile over eastern Ukraine. All 298 people onboard, including 283 passengers and 15 crew members, lost their lives.
International experts investigating the case concluded that the MH17 aircraft was brought down by a Russian missile used by separatists in eastern Ukraine. In 2022, a Dutch court sentenced three individuals to life imprisonment for launching the missile that downed the flight, resulting in the deaths of 298 people. However, the families of the victims continue their pursuit of justice more than a decade after the tragedy.
