I Will Light A Candle Too: Fourth Anniversary Social Media Campaign (Global) Supporters were invited to add a commemorative frame for the fourth anniversary of the PS752 crash to their social media profile pictures. This initiative created a unified digital tribute, allowing individuals worldwide to honor the victims of Flight PS752 and amplify the call for justice and remembrance across online platforms
The Forum on Justice was held to discuss the historic development, where the PS752 case was referred to the ICJ, featuring families, lawyers, and officials and was streamed across social media outlets for public engagement. Following the forum, a rally was held in Toronto to stand in solidarity with the important milestone and the long road ahead.
Families of the victims of Flight PS752 gathered in Shahidshahr, the site where the Islamic Republic shot down the passenger plane. In a heartfelt tribute, they planted six trees in memory of the 176+1 passengers, symbolizing the enduring legacy of their loved ones. This act of remembrance stands as both a testament to their loss and a reaffirmation of their ongoing pursuit of justice.
The Toronto commemoration for the third anniversary of Flight PS752 brought together families, supporters, and officials in a powerful display of remembrance and solidarity. Held at Mel Lastman Square, the event featured speeches, candlelight vigils, and artistic tributes, creating a space for collective mourning and renewed calls for justice. Through this gathering, the community reaffirmed its commitment to keeping the memory of the victims alive and holding those responsible accountable.
The PS752 Justice Hackathon for Aban was a global initiative bringing together passionate tech enthusiasts, developers, and advocates to create innovative digital solutions that support the pursuit of truth and justice for the victims and their families. Participants collaborated on projects aimed at raising awareness, preserving evidence, and advancing accountability efforts.
The Association, in collaboration with the Iranian Community of Manitoba, organized a tree-planting event in honor of the victims of Flight PS752 at a park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 177 trees were planted in memory. The long term project plans to include a plaza and forest that honour the victims. This event brought together community members and volunteers to create a lasting tribute while also standing in solidarity with those seeking justice.
The Flight PS752 Memorial Scholarships initiative honors the academic aspirations of the victims by supporting students worldwide in their pursuit of higher education. Established by various institutions through advocacy from victims’ families and friends, these scholarships preserve the legacy of those whose lives were unjustly cut short. By applying, donating, or spreading awareness, supporters can help keep their memory alive and contribute to a future built on education and justice.
The memorial dedication at the University of Alberta in Edmonton was a meaningful community engagement event honoring the ten victims of Flight PS752 connected to the university. A bench and tree were erected, and a plaque bearing their names was unveiled, creating a lasting tribute to their memory. This space serves as a public place for reflection, remembrance, and a reminder of the ongoing pursuit of justice.
The second anniversary of the downing of flight PS752 was held as a live streamed event and followed by an in-person candlelight vigil in Toronto. Photos of the victims were displayed in place of the audience, filling the auditorium to showcase the sheer amount of destruction caused by the crash. Through music, speeches, poetry, and video tributes, families and supporters honored the victims while reaffirming their commitment in the search for truth.
Artists worldwide were united in a call to submit artwork to be featured in, “An Open Wound In the Sky,” an arts and culture program that aims to showcase artwork that commemorates PS752 and the tragedy that remains in the victims’ community. By showcasing visual artworks inspired by the victims and their families’ ongoing fight for justice throughout Ontario, the program transformed grief into artistic expression, fostering solidarity and raising awareness. The open call invited artists to contribute their work, demonstrating the power of art in advocating for truth, transparency, and accountability. This initiative not only honored the lives lost but also strengthened the global movement for justice through creative activism.
