Participants come together to commemorate the victims of Flight PS752 and support the Woman, Life, Freedom movement by raising awareness and funds of over 14000$ for Iranian refugees. This initiative fosters engagement by uniting individuals in advocacy, remembrance, and action, demonstrating the power of collective solidarity in the pursuit of justice and human rights.

With Iran’s failure to submit to binding arbitration, the case of PS752 was expected to be referred to the International Court of Justice in The Hague after June 28, 2023. The Forum on Justice was held to discuss this historic development, featuring families, lawyers, and officials and was streamed across social media outlets for public engagement. Following the form, a rally was held in Toronto to stand in solidarity with the important milestone and the long road ahead.

This act of remembrance stands as both a testament to their loss and a reaffirmation of their ongoing pursuit of justice.

The Association, in collaboration with the Iranian Community of Manitoba, organized a tree-planting event in honor of the victims of Flight PS752 at a park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 177 trees were planted in memory. The long term project plans to include a plaza and forest that honour the victims. This event brought together community members and volunteers to create a lasting tribute while also standing in solidarity with those seeking justice.

University of Alberta Tree Dedication Ceremony

The memorial dedication at the University of Alberta in Edmonton was a meaningful community engagement event honoring the ten victims of Flight PS752 connected to the university. A bench and tree were erected, and a plaque bearing their names was unveiled, creating a lasting tribute to their memory. This space serves as a public place for reflection, remembrance, and a reminder of the ongoing pursuit of justice.

The second anniversary of the downing of flight PS752 was held as a live streamed event and followed by an in-person candlelight vigil in Toronto. Photos of the victims were displayed in place of the audience, filling the auditorium to showcase the sheer amount of destruction caused by the crash. Through music, speeches, poetry, and video tributes, families and supporters honored the victims while reaffirming their commitment in the search for truth.

By showcasing visual artworks inspired by the victims and their families’ ongoing fight for justice throughout Ontario, the program transformed grief into artistic expression, fostering solidarity and raising awareness. The open call invited artists to contribute their work, demonstrating the power of art in advocating for truth, transparency, and accountability. This initiative not only honored the lives lost but also strengthened the global movement for justice through creative activism.
