The official commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the downing of Flight PS752 took form as a candle-lighting ceremony at Richmond Hill’s Unity Park and a formal memorial held in Toronto. Families, friends, and supporters gathered to pay tribute to the 176 passengers and unborn child lost in the tragedy. Flowers were placed on the graves of the victims as well as the memorial trees, symbolizing the enduring love and remembrance of their lives. Speeches were given by various Canadian officials, highlighting the ongoing fight for truth and accountability, while musical and poetry performances captured the deep sorrow and resilience of the community. This ceremony served not only as an act of remembrance but also as a renewed call for justice. Videos, stories, speeches, and music portraying the struggles for justice over the past five years were then showcased at a commemoration event.
The Association participated in the inaugural Alef Persian Book Fair in Toronto, showcasing their published works as part of their ongoing mission to preserve memory and seek justice. Visitors had the opportunity to explore four books: Should Not Have Been Written (Volumes 1 & 2), Red in the Sky, and Wounded in the Sky, which chronicle the lives and legacies of those lost in the downing of Flight PS752.This event not only highlighted Persian literature but also fostered community engagement, bringing together publishers, booksellers, and readers from North America, Europe, Iran, and Afghanistan. Through book exhibitions, panels, and discussions, the Association continued its commitment to ensuring that the stories of PS752 victims were heard, remembered, and never forgotten.

A group of PS752 victims’ families and supporters gathered at a local Tehran garden to plant trees and flowers in a large teardrop-shaped formation. honor their loved ones, especially those born in July, by planting flowers and seedlings. This act of remembrance not only keeps their memory alive but also strengthens the bonds within the community of grieving families. These gatherings serve as spaces for collective healing, solidarity, and advocacy, ensuring that the call for justice remains strong through shared action and remembrance.
The Association of Families of Victims of Flight PS752 officially introduced three impactful books that shed light on the tragedy, the pursuit of justice, and the enduring memory of the victims at the Uncensored Tehran Book Fair in numerous cities across Europe. The books, named “Red in the Arms of the Sky,” “It Shouldn’t Have Been Written 1 and 2,” and “The Lonely Fight for Justice,” were published to provide information regarding PS752 to the public, and the official book launch assisted in its promotion. The launch was held in a community space to honour and remember the legacy of those in the crash. This initiative aimed to foster dialogue, raise awareness, and ensure that the voices of those lost continue to resonate through literature.
