Toronto Fifth Anniversary Commemorations

The official commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the downing of Flight PS752 took form as a candle-lighting ceremony at Richmond Hill’s Unity Park and a formal memorial held in Toronto. Families, friends, and supporters gathered to pay tribute to the 176 passengers and unborn child lost in the tragedy. Flowers were placed on the graves of the victims as well as the memorial trees, symbolizing the enduring love and remembrance of their lives. Speeches were given by various Canadian officials, highlighting the ongoing fight for truth and accountability, while musical and poetry performances captured the deep sorrow and resilience of the community. This ceremony served not only as an act of remembrance but also as a renewed call for justice. Videos, stories, speeches, and music portraying the struggles for justice over the past five years were then showcased at a commemoration event.
